IIMAK has a strong culture of customer care, providing a full range of highly differentiated services that help our customers grow their business and make doing business easy.  We currently have an opportunity at our Amherst, New York facility to join IIMAK as a Part-Time Safety Coordinator.

The Part-Time Safety Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of safety. The Safety Coordinator will ensure that IIMAK meets and exceeds all requirements pertaining to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

• 20-25 hours per week working in a 24/7 manufacturing facility
• Administer Safety Ambassador program
• Administer Safety Talk program; research, author, distribute and sometimes facilitate talks.
• Report and review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing. Make recommendations to address any situations of concern.
• Perform monthly on-shift audits to focus on a safe and incident free workplace
• Monitor, audit and report on compliance with OSHA required programs
• Conduct New Hire Safety Orientation
• Identify opportunities to prevent injuries and improve workplace safety and follow through on program implementation.  
• Assist in preparing monthly safety meetings
• Perform internal audits of safety activities to evaluate compliance and input corrective actions as needed.
• Review and update JSAs plant-wide
• Other duties as assigned

(qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job)
• 2+ years of experience with manufacturing safety compliance programs
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• General knowledge of technical safety principles and processes
• Good oral, written and presentation skills
• Ability to contribute in a team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must have integrity, be highly analytical, organized and methodical
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with confidence to interact and communicate effectively with personnel from all levels of the organization.
