GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for all aspects of safety. The EHS Manager will ensure that IIMAK meets and exceeds all requirements pertaining to all environmental / OSHA regulations, policies, and procedures.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• 24/7 manufacturing facility responsibility
• Administer Safety Ambassador program
• Administer safety training and Safety Talk program; research, author, distribute and facilitate talks.
• Develop policies, procedures and protocols to maintain compliance; drive continuous improvement in the safety culture.
• Report and review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing. Make recommendations to address any situations of concern.
• Perform monthly on-shift audits to focus on a safe and incident free workplace
• Monitor, audit and report on compliance with OSHA required programs
• Conduct New Hire Safety Orientation
• Identify opportunities to prevent injuries, improve workplace safety and follow through on programs.  
• Assist in preparing monthly safety meetings
• Perform internal audits of EHS activities to evaluate compliance and input corrective actions as needed.
• Review and update JSAs plant-wide
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS:
(qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job)
• Four year degree or equivalent experience in related discipline plus applicable training such as Industrial Hygiene certifications (CSP or CHCM), Emergency and/or Hazardous Materials certification.
• 3+ years’ experience of managing Environmental, Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment. Strong experience in driving a safety culture.
• Previous experience in claims management administration and loss prevention required.    
• Knowledge of and experience with information privacy laws, access, and release of information required. 
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, strong interpersonal and communication skills, general math and computer skills, and ability to provide solutions through suggestions for process improvement.
• Broad knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation.
• Experience of implementing best practices, policies, procedures and process across different sites, ensuring consistency in application where appropriate.
