Core Cutter Operator

Founded in 1983, International Imaging Materials, Inc. (IIMAK) is a leading global manufacturer of printing, imaging and marking consumables and related services. Our highly engineered core products include a full line of thermal transfer ribbons, inkjet inks, and stamp inks used widely in manufacturing, distribution, food packaging, textiles, electronics, medical, healthcare and office applications. IIMAK headquarters is located in Amherst, New York and we currently have opportunities to join IIMAK as a Core Cutter.

 

 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Cut and notch cores to meet slitting / shipping requirements.
  • Operation of core cutting machine, to include set-up, operation, changeover, routine maintenance, housekeeping and required audits.
  • Printing of leader strip and labels to support the Converting department.
  • Maintain proper documentation.
  • Daily tool inspection and accountability.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment.
  • Use software including AX dynamics, RF smart, Windows, Slitting Dispatch, Lot Tracker, and other internal programs.
  • Perform slitting and packing job duties as needed including daily lunch/break relief on auto slitting equipment.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

(Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job)

 

  • 6 months of machine operation experience required (core cutting experience a plus).
  • Previous slitting experience preferred.
  • Above average mechanical aptitude with experience in the proper use of hand tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints / core specifications.
  • Ability to read and understand slitting dispatch and core dispatch.
  • Ability to measure and hold tight tolerances.
  • Forklift and electric pallet-jack experience a plus.
  • Solid computer skills and ability to develop AX skillset required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
