We currently have an opportunity at our Amherst, New York facility to join IIMAK as a HVAC Mechanic.

Principal Responsibilities:
• Accountable for the inspection, maintenance and repair all facility HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on HVAC equipment and make the associated repairs.  Replace filters, fuses, belts, motors, bearings, compressors, heat exchangers, valves and system controls as required.  Coordinate repairs with outside mechanical contractors as needed.
• Perform daily checks and maintenance on plant systems including steam boilers, cooling towers, chilled water and compressed air systems.
• Follow and document a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment is operating properly and efficiently.  Make recommendations on future equipment modifications, upgrades and purchases.
• Initiate equipment work orders in the work order management system.  Maintain and complete work orders with labor hours, parts used and a record of completed tasks.
• Performing general maintenance tasks on facility and manufacturing equipment including all aspects of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, roof repair, carpentry and other duties as assigned.
 
 Qualified Candidate Should Possess:
(qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job) 

• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems.  Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues, track through documentation and train individuals in regard to HVAC systems. EPA approved Section 608 Universal Certification required. 
• AAS degree (mechanical or facility field preferred) or 5+ years of applicable, hands-on experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
• Working knowledge of plant support systems (compressors, chillers, boilers).
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.  CAD experience, a plus.
• Self-starter must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work an altered schedule as needed, to accommodate business needs.
• Strong analytical & PC skills to include MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), work order management systems automated building management systems.
